    combined starters

Post by Itsme on Tue Aug 02, 2011 7:01 pm

So I have an idea for the starters thats a little new...
instead of making a grass, fire and water starters we make a Grass/Fire starter, a Fire/Water starter and a Water/Grass starter.
The grass/fire starter is easy it can be shaped out from a hot pepper or a jalapeno.
The fire/water is tricky but can be a boiler or a steam making pokemon... doesn't really need to live in water to be a water type right?
The Water/grass pokemon has already been made but this time we can make a watermelon pokemon or a coconut or any juice filled fruit or maybe something else.
We can give these starters two abilities based on the type blaze torrent or overgrow.
    So what you think?

Sounds weird and I don't like it.

I like the Idea. Gives more of a reason to keep your starter & your longer screwed by the first Rock/Steel/Electric type you see. Whats better, I've already designed some Grass/Fire types, A Jalepeno being one of them. The problem though is the evolutions. Its easy to think of 1 pokemon. not so much a whole line.

Nah. I think we should stick with Water/Fire/Grass, as Gamefreak always have. Don't fix what ain't broke. Also, Fire/Grass has the potential to be severely overpowered. Fire covered Grass's Ice weakness, and Grass covers Fire's Water and Ground and Rock weakness, whereas the Fire/Water one is double weak to Ground, which would cripple it.

Not really. Water is neutral to ground moves.

Is it? I thought Water > Ground?

Water moves are super-effective against ground types, but ground type moves are neutral to water types.

well, the three typings have different weaknesses and 4x resistances

Water/Grass: 2x weakness on poison flying and bug
2x resistance on ground and steel
    4x resistance on Water.

Grass/Fire: 2x weakness on rock poison and flying
2x rsistance on electric and steel
    4x resistance on grass

Fire/Water: 2x weakness on electric ground and rock
    2x resistance on bug
4x resistance on fire ice and steel.
and thats it... I dont know you decide...
