It's based of the Pitohui=the first Poisonous bird described. They're are six species of Pitohui, but only three are actually poisonous=the Hooded Pitohui, the Brown Pitohui and the Varied Pitohui.

It is an eagle-like bird, but with a long goose-like neck. It has very large talons and a curved beak. It is wearing a dark hood that is part of a swath of cloth that covers most of it's body and stretches out from the sides of it's body to become it's wings.

Oh, it's a bird? Cool. I was expecting it to be something like Gligar. On a separate note, a lot of our designs seem to be based on birds.

I suggest giving it a different species name, since most of the pokemon franchise's target audience is not going to be familiar with this species of bird.

The former. Make the actual pokemon's name as vague as you want, as long as it sounds good in the end.

Since its based of the hooded Pitohui, Shouldn't it be A sort of Shady bird? Maybe the Evo could be flying dark, With a hood concealing its eyes.

I prefer Poison, as I'm a Poison-type trainer. I guess we could make an evolution that's Poison/Dark and has Levitate. In fact, that might be a good idea as that combo has no weaknesses.

Fighting? maybe Bug?

Anyway, if the evo gets Levitate, you'd need to make it less 'bird-like' and more 'Floating in midair'.

nah. Not worth the no weaknesses. & levitate doesn't quite make sense. Should a bird be plying, not flouting? The evo should be Dark Poison IMHO.

Well, Flygon gets levitate, and as you can see by my avatar, it flaps its wings rather than floating. Go ahead and use Levitate if you want, I don't have any problems.

And Hydreigon gets Levitate and flaps too.

Okay... so a Poison/Dark evo, then?
