Discuss anything having to do with Game Freak and Nintendo's official pokemon games in this section. If you want to share your friend code with people so you can trade and battle, please don't make an entire new thread. Do your planning on the chatbox. Yes, we do have one here.

I'm also MMing for a shiny Trapinch. I assume it's in Black/White? If so, I suggest going back and forth on the path near the Day Care until you get enough eggs to fill your party. Then, when it's full, ride your bike over to Skyarrow Bridge and go back and forth. Skyarrow bridge is ridiculously long, so it gets a lot of steps.

Oh, and make sure you have a pokemon with Flame Body or Magma Armor in front of your party. It halves the steps that it takes for eggs to hatch. It speeds up the process a whole lot. I use my trusty Volcarona for that job.

I'm using a litwick with flamebody. Although, I'm only up to about 150 snivy eggs.
    Thanks for the tips. Smile

Wow, you're pretty far. I'm just at about 50. Serperior is an awesome shiny, so good luck with that.

Obtaining a shiny egg is quite a hard work,i've never tryed it but i relly on my luck; i've had pokérus twice (in Ruby and i SS-i still have it on this game) and in FR i got a shiny Aerodactyl when i revived the fossil.

I never really needed good luck to obtain Pokerus. I just suddenly had it one time, and I made sure to spread it to a bunch of pokemon so I wouldn't use it. Then I transferred it to my gen 4 games, and then to my gen 5 games. With shinies, however, I have very bad luck. The first shiny I ever found was in Fire Red, and it was a Koffing. Unfortunately, being a Koffing, it selfdestructed on me. Then I found a shiny roselia, but luckily I was able to catch that one. Now I need a shiny Trapinch, and I'm willing to hatch as many eggs as it takes. Luckily, they increased the chances of the Masuda Method working in this generation.

That reminded me of that, it was one level below having self destruct.

The same thing happened to me with a graveler in Platinum. But I caught one when I found one in soul silver about 2 maybe 3 years later.

Thanks for posting that link there. as well as having a list of fangames made using the thing we plan to use to make this, but it also documents exactly how to use it. That site'll be helpful if anyone ever gets round to making this.

What does MMing actually stand for? I know it means, but... Masuda Method-ing? I'm doing the same for Charmander. 60 eggs in. I only ever found a shiny once, in Ruby, a Golbat. I caught it, but I don't have a clue where it is now. The way I see it I'm due a shiny right about now. But that's never the case...

Seeing as I have nothing better to do until Psych comes on, I may as well check it out.

Edit: what a noob. A lot of that was based on luck, since Inferno and Dynamicpunch missed, but you still would have won anyway. That Fearow just wouldn't quit, would it?

What? If you want to use Inferno you have to use something that raises Accuracy. And Dynamicpunch is almost exclusive of Machamp and Golurk, 'cause of No Guard.

Good job. I just got a shiny Trapinch recently that way. I'm not a huge fan of shiny Haxorus, though; it's just black. At least the green form is somewhat colorful.

Scizor pretty much destroys it by exploiting its relatively poor defense which cannot be boosted by Calm Mind; if you're not running a Trick Room set, then Bug Bite should probably OHKO thanks to Technician boosting it to approximately 90 base power and STAB. Even if Trick Room is up, Bullet Punch overrides it because of priority and gets STAB and Technician boosts as well. And to think Scizor is a common revenge killer or sweeper on most teams.

But that's just on the competitive spectrum. There's no real distinction in the usefulness of Reuniclus outside of the competitive environment due to its fluid and chaotic nature.

Have you even heard of a Bold max Defense Reuniclus?

Bug Bite is powered to 135 Base Power. Just pointing that.

But a Reuniclus can be very disruptive. I haven't tried it against a Scizor, but it can happily receive a Crunch form a Banded Tyranitar or a Dark Pulse from an Hydreigon after a Calm Mind. It's just if you know how to use it. Although, you may need a bit of luck against a Scizor. If it gets a critical hit, ba-bye Reuniclus.
