rpg maker XP vs. Hacking Empty rpg maker XP vs. Hacking

Ok so this is kinda of a really important topic. after experimenting with both rpg maker xp and hacking i've realized something: they are both very considerable options t making our game. so i guess i want as many people as possilbe to vote on which one they think would be better. Here are pros and cons:

RPG Maker XP Pros- Can be made by one person, might the only way to make day and night feature, already includes 4th gen sprites, easy to add new pokemon

Cons- No move animations, EVERYTHING must be scripted (that's difficult even for expert scripters), no animations for girl main character for going into battle

Hacking pros- Includes all the outlines allready needed to make the game, much easier to make animated title screen, includes 2 frames per sprite so we can make send into battle animations for pokemon, easy to edit trainers and pokemon

Cons- Will take many people to do, more difficult to add new pokemon and change trainer sprites, harder to add more map tiles

Input is really important if we are going to make a game!

Exactly! whats the point of creating new stuff if we can't add them!?

maybe i didn't explain well enough. see we can add the same amount of stuff and everything, its just that hacking would be higher quality as where as rpg maker xp would be easier (in some ways) the one reason why i personally side with hacking tho is because it allows us to edit anything we want, but also keep anything we feel needs to stay the same (that way if we want to add a new item we will have to change the sprite but scripting it is already there, cutting the time in half). just thought i would clear that up.

When you say it's difficult to add new things, do you mean that it's time-consuming and/or tedious, or do you mean that the amount we can customize the game is limited?

Sorry, jwoo, what do you mean it has to be scripted everything?
And why RPG can be done by one person whereas hacking not?

As some of you might know from my attempts at spriting, I'm technologically impaired, so I can't offer much help here. I can however say that hacked games seem to have more tile glitches from what I've played.

@Gelatino95 i mean it is time consuming and also very difficult, but it can be done

@Dimafo140 i mean that rpg maker xp is completely empty. no outlines or anything to work with (no HOW-TOs if you know what i mean) and hacking takes multiple people beacause it takes multiple programs and is more complex

@treecko's awesomeness not many people use rpg maker xp to hack actually i dont think i have ever seen a completed rmxp hack (it is just overall more difficult)

another inportant question for making the game. i have come across an update of pokemon essentials called pokemon essentials ds. it updates the graphics MAJORLY also adds animated pokemon sprites and (from the programmers point of view if i can say so myself) is much easier to do than hacking now so the real question will be pokemon essentials or pokemon essentials ds? pokemon essentials ds is far better except for one important thing: it will have to be played on DS emulators which tend to lag more than VBA. i plan to use ds but if anyone has a problem with lag please speak up!

Is the DS version rendered in 3D like the DS games?

the ammount of 3D rendering is a little bit less than diamond/pearl. if you want to judge for yourself try googling 'pokemon blaze red' and looking at screenshots of it, that game is being made on pokemon essentials ds
