Post by King Dedede Sat Sep 03, 2011 4:37 am

I know were trying to stop making new Poke'mon, and to start working on the ones we already made, but I really wanted to make this guy. Plus, every Gen there is a Poke'mon that learns Glare released.

    Bython
    3.9 ft, 20.0 lbs

    The Lethargic Snake Poke'mon
These Poke'mon kill their prey by constricting them. They are very popular among beginner trainers and are surprisingly docile.
Found in Meadows and Urbanized areas
    By level up:
    START - Constrict
    START - Leer
    START - Lick
    START - Bind

    Tail Whip
    Scary Face
    Pursuit
    Sleep Talk
    Snore
    Dragon Dance

    EV yield: +1 HP
    Egg group: Dragon/Field
    Dex color: Red
    Gender Ratio: 50% ♂, 50% ♀
    Ability: Shed Skin
    Catch Rate: 255
    EXP at lvl 100: 1,869,000

It looks like a drowsy red/orange snake. It has purple cat-like eyes and a Z shape on it's head. It is quite fat for a snake. Normal ones look like Wild-form Corn Snakes, while shinies look like Anerythristic Cornsnakes.

I was going to say the same thing... besides it's only poison type move is poison tail... Should it learn poison fang, poison jab, poison sting, gunk shot and stuff?

Some pokemon have limited movepools, and that's perfectly fine. Heck, Carvanha doesn't learn any water-type moves by level-up.

This guy looks like a cool pokemon. I assume it's a stand-alone pokemon? If it's meant to be found early in the game, then that makes it a great pokemon for beginning trainers to use since it already has the stats of a fully-evolved pokemon. Sort of like Basculin in B/W. I suggest making it somewhat rare, so it's hard to find if you want to add one to your team.

The name is a corruption of Corn+Nerodia, which is a Genus of snakes closely related to Rat Snakes (which this Poke'mon is based off of).

Also, I'm glad you like the idea. Very Happy And yes, I plan for it to be very rare. Maybe even almost Audino-like.

Lastly, the reason it doesn't learn any Poison moves as Corn Snakes don't actually have any Poison, but I felt it should be a Poison-type since it's a snake. Plus, as Gelo said, many Poke'mon do have limited movepools.

I love the concept of an early-game Pokemon that's strong and reliable that also, for some reason, get's barely any STAB. The snake concept's pretty good too, but the design'll really need to look different to existing snake Pokemon.

I like it more as Kornerodia, personally. Should I put up a poll?

Anyway, I added TMs and Lick to it's movepool.

maybe you should lower the level where it learns bite. 45 seems a bit high for that move

I don't know what I'd do without you guys. Even if it seems I'm ungrateful, I am grateful.

Okay then, I'll replace Bite with Crunch. However, I don't see a place where I can put Bite without replacing a move.

I made a sketh of cornerodia, however it seems too much to ekans, maybe cornerodia could have an evolution. If the answer is no i'm going to remake the drawing to make it more like seviper.

we need to stay away from cobra's and seviper... The gabon snake has a triangle shape head and rattle snakes has those rattles at the end of the tail... It blend perfectly with the theme of your snake since gabon snake are fat and rattle snake's way to hunt is lazy... leering the pray to them! Start with those two features and add some designs in the body to differentiate them from the others... Just an idea!
