    Music Discussion

Post by Frostichu on Thu May 19, 2011 7:13 pm

For our Pokemon game, do any of us have any idea which programs to use to put the music together and compose it? (Yes, I know this OP only has one sentence.)

I'm not sure how I'm going to be able to get music into the game, as I don't own the software yet. But I can only assume that I'll have to upload the MP3 files from my computer. Luckily, I happen to own Fruity Loops, a program that can synthesize music. And it's pretty easy to use. So I might end up using that.

    Champion theme. Any objections?

(I know it's not an original theme, but I figure it would be too much to ask for a whole original score from about one person. Plus, this is awesome.)

The music is quite catching but i think we should create our music basing on the other pkm series, specially one so important as the champion theme. However, i agree if you decide to make this music another theme rather than the champion's one.

I would actually like to make my own music. I have plenty of musical experience and I would make a great composer. In fact, I should probably try playing around with Fruity Loops some more.

Cool, I'm glad to hear that you've got some music software. I'm pretty much a noob at Fruity Loops, so maybe you can put together some nice tunes.

I would be happy to. Maybe I'll start with the "beginning town" music. I'll work on it, then share when it's done. Very Happy

Ooops, I guess that was kind of a silly question. Okie Dokie. I'll start on it soon. It should be dramatic *Holds up hands and performs "spirit fingers" *

Is Anvil a free program? If so, I might consider getting it...

Yeah, just google "Anvil". It's free and only takes like 2 GB of memory.
It's kinda hard to use at the beginning, but gets better. Very Happy

I am really sorry to double post but...
I made my first song (On this laptop, I have used Anvil Before)
It sounds like a wintery song...Just type this( http://midishrine.com/midi/42304.mid )
Into your address bar and then you can listen to it...Smile

It is just a quickie song, (I just made it today). Don't hesitate to say you hate it.

Don't worry about double posting, we don't have really strict rules around here. Just don't put a bunch of posts in a row that could easily be put all in one post.

Anyway, it's a very nice song. I might consider getting that program. It sounds pretty cool.

Thank you. It's kinda complicated, though. It took me 3 days of just pure trial and error.

I could actually write music and transfer it from midi to mp3. I am a dedicated musician and songwriter, and I would LOVE to. I have been writing for about 6 years now, and once again, I would LOVE to write music for it. I could then transfer it to whoever is making the game via AIM or whatever. Please? Smile Message me if you want me to.

Anyone (apart from Lyrebird) has already begun thinking about music? Gelo, have you managed to do something with the music programmes you downloaded?

That has come into my mind because i found a channel on youtube with many pkm songs compilations, check http://www.youtube.com/user/TaciturnArtist

I've realized hoenn music was epic!
