Introduction to New Gen Pokemon

Welcome!

Today, the New Gen Pokemon thread is officially opened. As you probably know, the New Gen Pokemon project aims to create a whole new pokemon game a lot like the other games that Game Freak has made for us. Here, all our members will work as a team to do this project. There are lots of different things that you can do here, so there will be a place for everybody. Here are some examples:

New Pokemon: We need people to think up ideas for new pokemon to appear in our games. We also need to build up these pokemon with all the details of existing pokemon, such as type, movepool, and base stats.

Characters: Perhaps just as important as the pokemon are the human characters who appear in the game. Trainers, gym leaders, and all other NPCs (non-player characters) who appear in the game must be made.

Map-making: What will the layout of the whole region look like? What will be the arrangement of buildings in each town? Where should gyms be placed? This is what the Map-making section covers.

Plot: Every good pokemon game comes with a good plot to make it even better. If we want our game to be amazing, we need an equally amazing plot to make the game as interesting as possible.

Spriting: How is all the stuff we make going to look in the actual game? This section is for the artists who can make anything into a real sprite in the game.

With a list like that, I'm sure there's a place for everybody in this community.

All members are able to create new threads in each section. So go wild! Feel free to make a thread for anything you feel is important to the project and you really want to work on.

First of all, thank you for joining my forum. It brings joy to my soul to see our community growing right before my eyes.

Besides that, New Gen Pokemon (or NGP for short) is "A fan-made project based on Nintendo's Pokemon series to create an imaginary game in a similar style to those of the official series." (quoted from the top of the page). I display that message at the top of every page of our forum so that we can all keep in mind the goal of the NGP community.

Now, don't get confused: we're not actually making a pokemon game. I don't think we're allowed to do that anyway. We're actually making a database for a game that doesn't exist, if that makes any sense. Have you ever seen Serebbi.net? It's a database containing info on all the pokemon games to date, including all information on all existing pokemon, the maps of every single area in every single game, and anything else you can think of. Our goal here is to create a database like this, based on a game that we "create."

Now, the names of each section should explain what individual parts we're going to make of our game: Characters, maps, and sprites to name a few. You are allowed to contribute whatever you want to any section you fancy in order to make this thing happen. Sounds like fun, right? WRONG. (loljk)

Here at NGP, we have sections where you can post relevant stuff. If you want to create a new thread in one of our sections, then go to the section and click this button:

You can then add a title to your thread and write whatever you want to discuss. If you want to reply on an existing thread, the click this button:

Then you can say whatever you want in reply to the topic or another person's post.

Hey gelo... Great idea... Since I joined your forum, I am always scratching my head for new ideas so I can be helpful to the project... Hope my spriting issues won't be a problem... Just one thing... How do I put an avatar??

Click on "Profile" right under the banner and find "Avatar". Simple.
