Burroach and evo?

about the stats, this thing is going to have a prevo probably and its going to evolve rather late. also dragon dance raises speed 1 attack one swords dance is +2 attack/ also my original idea was for this to be dragon type so i thought that would be the one little thing it gets to show a tiny bit of dragon-ness

I hope these guys are very rare. Not only does it have beastly stats on par with the likes of Volcarona, surpassing the level of many legendaries, but it also learns incredibly useful moves at very early levels: Dragon Dance, X-scissor, and Earthquake. I suggest you either do something to rectify this problem with power creep or do something to considerably raise the rarity of the pokemon itself.

edited the moveset to make it learn x-scissor, dragon dance, and earthquake all later. also lowered attack and HP stats a bit total is now 503. as far as rarity goes i'm thinking that its prevo will be uncommon on a few routes but have really terrible stats and is hard to train up to get to this

I like the new changes. The only thing I don't like is the god-awful special attack, especially since it learns Dragonbreath. Even Gyarados has better special attack than that.

the special attack is the same as haxorus. i was going to make this thing a mixed sweeper when it was part fire or part dragon, but bug/ground is not very good for special hits. plus haxorux learns dragon pulse with its base 40 sp. attack just sayin

All right, that's cool then. However, it's important to understand that base stats and type shouldn't correlate; if you want it to be a mixed sweeper, you should make it one regardless of what type it is. It really doesn't matter whether or not a pokemon can take advantage of its stats. Think about Crawdaunt from gen III. It has gargantuan attack and pitiful special attack, yet both of its STAB types are special.

Remember, this isn't like Smogon's CAP project where we try to make competitively-viable pokemon. We're just making pokemon for a game, meaning some will be good and some will be not as good. For the most part, pokemon shouldn't be specifically tailored for certain purposes.

ya know that is true i didn't really think about it that way but i looked through special STAB moves this thing could have and signal beam and mud shot seem like the only that would fit. maybe i'll open a poll to see if people would want burroach as a physical or mixed sweeper

I personally think we shouldn't consider its competitive use at all when making it. We should just make base stats that suit its design. After all, the competitive metagame isn't made by Game Freak, it's made by fans.

i think i might just keep the stats the way they are now they seem fine really no need to change them xD

The stats are fine with me pointing at a very good physical sweeper... Although Bug/Ground have also two very decent stabs in the special department in the form of Bug buzz and earth power but I don't really know if they are compatible with gen 3 mechanics.

Anyway, the defenses may be lowered a little bit... Roaches aren't the type of bugs to take repeated hits. I agree that defensively it isn't stellar but still a 78 HP with 90 defense means that this bug can take some hits. My simple suggestion is to switch it's Defense stat with its sp defense stat (in place of 78/90/65 make them 78/65/90) because I don't really see a roach taking a good physical hit but maybe it can take a good special hit.

One last thing... Why does it learn the move coil?

idk i was looking through moves and its just kinda seemed like it would fit. one of those random pointless set up moves like pikachu having tail whip with its crappy attack. also i will change the base stats
