Secondary Rival?

Basically, should we have a secondary rival who gets the last starter like in diamond and pearl and black and white? And should it be the unused player character like in diamond and pearl? Discuss.

All a secondary Rival would do is detract from the main Rival, who we've given an interesting backstory to.

Don't put dumb poll options in your polls. It just takes away from the actual results that we want.

I'm gonna have to agree with Ferrety on this one. The rival idea we have now is already really interesting and unique, so we don't really need any more. Besides, people already want our plot to be super-complex... no need to complicate things.

I liked the muffins option. Wow. This cheers me up!

It's always good to see what direction things'll go in and what discussion things'll make. I'd keep this topic, mostly because we can use the responses to figure out how to focus more on the original Rival. Also, people might disagree with what me and Gelo said.

I'm going to have to disagree actually. Black and White had one of the best story lines of any of the games, and it arguably had three rivals. N had a really good story behind him. I don't think a secondary rival would detract from the story line at all.

I don't consider Cheren and Bianca 'Rivals', to be honest. Their personalities weren't really built up much, and hey were probably just put in to have more fights. I consider the true Rivals to be Blue, Silver, Wally, Barry and N. In the case of Blue, Silver and N, they also have opposite viewpoints to the main characters.

If we had a secondary Rival, we'd have to explain their backstory as well as the main ones, and considering we want a complex plot, this could get a bit too much. I'd rather have encounters with the Evil Team than shallow characters who add little to the game as a whole.
