The Vote Thread

This thread is reserved for any official site polls. I'll make a poll and post on this thread to say which poll is being opened. When I think we're done, I'll update the OP with the results. I'm recording all the results to keep things organized.

And one more thing: Please keep any discussions based on the current poll in its respective thread, if one has been made. You may share your vote and reason on this thread if you like, but otherwise, keep it on the original thread.

Current poll:

Which name would you prefer as the title of our pokemon game? Choices: Obsidian or Cobalt.

I'm going with Obsidian, I was reflecting on it and it might make a good Mineral for a Poison-legendary.

Well, I've just found some bad news.

There are games called Obsidian and Cobalt already. While this may not be too bad (almost everything in the universe is a Pokemon name), it might make it hard for us if we make YouTube videos of the game (if we actually make it).

That is bad news. However, Poke'mon Obsidian is a hack (unlike Cobalt). So, Obsidian might not be too bad.


Still, I'd prefer something like Amethyst more anyway..

I'm so sad to hear that our ideas have been taken. If anybody has any more ideas, it's not too late to tell us.

As for Amethyst, that's not a bad idea. A purple color scheme for our box art and legendary would be pretty neat. You think Poison/Rock would make a good type combo?

There are many, many Amethysts. Just do a quick search on YouTube or something to see if they exist. I don't think Pokemon Potassium exists.

I really would like a Poison legendary though, and Pottasium is silver. :/

Potassium would be cool, but it doesn't sound epic enough. If we're going to use an element, it has to sound good.

I don't know all of them, but Ferrety said that Obsidian was already taken, and so was Cobalt. I'll update the poll once we come up with a few more options.

Just search for the name on YouTube. Then you'll know if the name's taken.

Thanks for the tip, Ferrety. So, I see that Obsidian, Cobalt, titanium, neon, lithium,copper, tin, and bronze have already been taken. Radon is the only one that hasn't. So, I suppose that's what we're doing, unless anybody can think of something else to deliberate on.

Like I said before, it's best to use a name that most people are at least somewhat familiar with. Obsidian is just about on the line. Radon too. But the average person isn't going to know what Nacre is.

You are right. Radon is a somewhat obscure gas. Many people have heard of it, but few actually know its properties (including me). But at the moment, it's the best idea I can think of, and more well-known than Nacre.

Okay. I've reflected it, Radon is good.

Maybe Poison/Flying? Radon is a gas(flying), and it's radioactive(poison).

What about pokemon mercury? It can be water/steel because mercury is liquid at room tempiture.

Taken. But it's a very good idea, too bad we didn't get to it first. At this point, if we can't come up with anything else, I think we're going with Radon.

I propose to open a new vote thread about the evil team's description. So, my idea would be to present this week and the forthcoming one at least 4 final ideas. Then, around the 18-20 of June, starting the voting.

I'm already thinking about possible dialogues and situations for some of the ideas i posted on Evil team discussion so i thought it'd be good to start moving on this subject.

finally, as i won't be here frequently these weeks i would like to express my support to the following ideas.
1-A normal mafia that only wants to make money :(extracting a source of energy from the legendary, reunite the ying-yang legendary, steal something from the Elite four...)
4-Some people from their government (...)that want to discover an ancient weapon or source of energy that lies somewhere. For this reason they have to use a legendary's power...They may be associated with criminals too.
5-A group of villians that want to get a mysterious object kept by the elite four. So that they steal pkm to overcome them. Your rival has to achieve it by stealing pkms and beating the elite four. Then, he thinks he's going to share the object's power (or whatever ) with the mafia's master.

If we finnally do number one, i think both 4 and 5 could be part of the plot too

I think we're sticking with the idea that the leader of the evil team is money-driven, and the reason that the grunts do all the work is because they receive immense paychecks from their wealthy leader.

I think after the main game has been beaten, the leader of the evil team will realize his mistake and become a good guy, maybe even opening up a pokemon day care, or some other charitable thing. But then, the other high-ranking leaders of the team will band together to carry out their evil duties, claiming that the leader has been "corrupted by money". Perhaps this is where we will put the sidequest for the yin-yang pokemon.

What about calling your game
Pokemon yin and yang version? makes sense no?
it doesn't have to be a rare gemstone.

I think this poll is over. We've all decided on Radon by now. (also, we're only making one version, to limit version exclusives and stuff) However, if you have any more ideas, then we'd be glad to listen.
