Ironiderm (Sea urchin poke'mon)

All righty, then. I made a shiny one.



I also tried coloring in the eyes, to see how it would look. Here are some variations in case you like it.



One thing I'd like to point out in terms of base stats is that usually, steel-types often have a very high defense stat due to the fact that they're made of metal.

HP- 80
Atk 30
Def- 97
Sp Atk- 50
Sp Def- 107
Spd- 21

I think the defense is good enough. & DDD Specifically asked for Sp defense to be the highest stat.

The shiny's eyes are great, but I'd like to see what the normal one would look like with darker eyes.

About the sprite gelatino, it seems at it doesn't have background. I mean, when i do a sprite on paint, it's done by a 80x80 white square with the design on it. When i take this image to a program like Word or open office anything near the design gets covered by the white square. In terms of the game, as the white square is part of the image i couldn't add it an appropiate background. so that the image would appear like: the battle background (a forest, the city...) the white square and the design on it. However your sprite not. When i take it to any program, it doesn't have the white square so you wouldn't have my problem. I hope you have understood what i mean. I have just realised this problemathic. Correct me if i'm wrong. If what i say it's true; how do you make the sprites in order not to have the white square?

He doesn't use Paint. He uses another programme that lets you use transparency.

You use Photoshop, use the Magic Wand and cut the background off. Simple.

Yes, but some programs won't let you do this in the background layer. I use Paint Shop Pro 7, and I have to make a new layer and delete the background layer in order to use transparency.

J, use PNG for saving all the sprites.

^ Don't double post if your second post is just going to be worthless. Double-posting is only appropriate when both posts contain significant contributions to the thread. I fixed it for you, but don't do it next time.

And the sprite is still blurry. I think you overwrote the original as a jpeg. You're going to have to fix the colors by hand or just start over on the eyes.

Medical Meccanica, a SPPf member, introduced a new design idea.



A design like this with more numerous spikes would make it look more like a real sea urchin. Thoughts?

It does make it look more like a Sea Urchin, but it removes the Navel Mine elements of the design for the most part. I'm obviously going to be a bit biased, though, so I'd be interested to see some more opinions.

I prefer the one that we have. The evolution can be like that.

I think an evolution is a perfect idea to this pokemon. The new one has a darkish nature no?

Ok. It will evolve into Zirconurchi, which will still be a Steel/Poison type and be known as the 'Shadowy Urchin' Poke'mon. Anybody want to make some stats?

"Zirconurchi" exceeds the maximum character limit for names. Besides, it's too complicated and has too many syllables. Sounds kind of cool, though. Maybe if you could just shorten it so it doesn't lose its coolness? Maybe something like "Zircurchi" or "Conurchi".

Come to think of it, a name like that might suit a prevolution better than an evolution.

I think we should either raise Zircurchi's stats more, or lower Ironiderm's some, otherwise I think they're too similar. I do like Itsme's stats though.
