My Plot ideas (Sorta overlaps a little with Characters)

Basically, my idea is as follows:

After Gym 5, the Professor goes missing, to be replaced by his daughter.

As previously mentioned, the Rival is part of the evil team. After Gym 7, you go off to stop the evil team, fighting the Rival, the Leader and then the Legendary. The Leader says something about how the Evil Team will never die.

After fighting the Elite 4 (who each have 4 Pokemon), but before fighting the Champion, your Rival appears, and challenges you. After that you find the Champ is the Prof, as already established. He reveals he was working with the Evil team, becoming the Champion to allow behind-the-scenes manipulation. He also reveals at some point that he allowed the Rival easy access to you in hope that he would be able to weaken you.

This next bit is up for some debate. After fighting you (with a suspicious 5 Pokemon), the Champion reveals he has total control over League affairs, and challenges you again with another, completely different team. After this, the police come in, arrest the Champion, and some plot-important guy comes in (ex-champ?) and puts you in the Hall of Fame.


The basic reason for this plot is to try to surprise the player; in Red and Blue, there was no indication there was a Champion until after beating Lance. I really think we should make a huge twist in the Elite 4 for this reason. Black and White had one.

I don't really like the idea of adding an extra fight to the Elite Four challenge... And I'm all for making the professor a round character, but making them evil sounds kind of weird. The rest of the ideas are good, though. I like the part where you fight the leader of the evil team instead of the champion, even though Black and White beat us to it. Maybe the leader will use the mascot legendary in the fight? (Dang... they beat us to that too)

The idea I have isn't the Champion being the leader/using the legendary, but being a notable member and keeping it alive after the Leader goes. Also, I can understand your reluctance to mess with the fights in the Elite 4, but I think a twist like in R/B and B/W is necessary.

Oh yeah, you're right. There were more fights than usual in B/W. However, they allowed you to heal before fighting the big bosses... are we going to implement that in any way?

I suppose we could have a reluctant Rival healing you...

Sorry, but I really don't like the evil professor idea at all. The rival was okay, but the professor should really be kept as a good person.

He was never really good in the first place, what with him keeping his first name unknown and using Ghost types (a mysterious type). This just seems to give him a reason to be mysterious and withhold information (something I can see him doing in the plot).

Still, he was more just mysterious than evil. I think the whole thing is just... weird.

Fair enough. I didn't expect everyone'd agree with me making the Champion/Professor evil, but it seems like a logical step to take, considering he needs to be mysterious for a reason.

Maybe he is mysterious_ and laugh at me if you want_ because his daughter is the evil champion... Pokemon never had a woman as an evil main character...
The professor might be hiding the fact that his daughter is the leader of the evil team and that he is trying to secretely inflitrate her base... thats when he is kidnapped and replaced by her as the concerned daughter of the kidnapped professor!

I'd personally prefer if the Professor wasn't evil.

I think that at this point it's pretty obvious we don't want the Champion/Professor to be evil. Anyone have any ideas for why he could be so mysterious?

I don't get it...

U said that at some point the professor is replaced by his daughter cz he went missing...

So the mysterious professor was trying to stop the plan of his evil daughter by infiltrating her base but he gets caught... that's how the daughter will replace him at this point.

The professor is secretive of his daughter being the evil boss of the team thats why he is mysterious.

We can save the professor after beating his daughter and he and the real champion will go with us to the hall of fame.

I'm fairly sure everyone wanted the Professor to be the Champion.

Ok ferrety... But if the professor is not the evil boss... he can still be the champion...

The idea is the same as you wrote in your original post but instead of making the professor evil, we make his daughter the evil boss. Thats all.

If you want we can battle him after defeating his daughter!
