Moves and Abilities section Empty Moves and Abilities section

    Post by Gelatino95 Sat Apr 30, 2011 9:21 pm

This is the Moves and Abilities section. In every generation of Pokemon to date, new moves have been added for pokemon in their movepools as well as new abilities that pokemon can have. This section is where you can post your idea for a new pokemon move or ability, and write all statistics on it.

For any move you introduce, there are a few things you want to include about it:

Base power (ex. Tackle has BP of 35, Hyper beam has 150, etc.)

Accuracy (many moves have 100 accuracy, while stronger ones like Fire Blast may have 85)

Physical or Special (Tackle is physical, Ember is special, Growl is neither)

    Type (self-explanatory)

If the move has any more advanced mechanics, then you should probably include it.

Also, when making an ability, be sure to explain exactly what it does.

    That's about it. Have fun!

    RULES OF THIS SECTION:
    1. Only ONE move or ability per ONE thread. Do not compile more than one move/ability in a single thread.

I found an article on Smogon that should help with this section, as well as the New Pokemon section:

    Here's a move, it's called fright.
Description: The user scares the opponent stiff (not letting it move),and attacks in that time. Chance of working decreases in consecutive moves.
    Physical move
    Accuracy: 90
Secondary effect: The opponent does not move, and the chance of it working over time decreases, like detect.

So... basically a carbon copy of Fake Out that works on multiple turns of the battle? I have to assume so, since you didn't include a base power.

    Name: Wing Beat

    Base power: 100

    Accuracy: 90

    Physical or Special: Physical

    Type: Flying

Description: When a Pokemon uses this move, it slams both wings into the opponent. It has a 30% chance of making an opponent flinch the next turn.

I think I included everything. Smile

Cool move. Feel free to make a new thread for it, since that's what this section is for.

Just like to point out that if this game is going to be a hack of a 3rd Gen game, which it sounds like it's going to be, there's no point adding Physical/Special as 3rd Gen had moves split up acording to types.

We were thinking of using RPG maker software to make it, but I can't figure out how to use the software and I don't even know how to download the starter pack. So, chances are, we're not even going to make a game.

This forum began as a data-base and this is our main objective. We can dream about a game, of course, and i'm sure everyone would want to see their creations there. Right now it's quite difficult to achieve, but, Gelo, don't give up,most dreams can become true and this forum is only two months and a half old with an average of 6 people working/day. We have to be patient and try to learn new things (two months ago i'd have never said i would be able to create a sprite. Very Happy )so continue dreaming.

Where are you making a list of all pokemon created and a list of all moves and abilities added. I'm speaking of pokemon that are actually finished... The lists that I read had a lot of unfinished pokemon in it!
