Every pokemon generation has had a bug type which evolves quickly: caterpie, wurmple...
So i've had an idea about one
Papillon/Clegyleaf (from french butterfly or from cleg+leaf) ,The Scavenger Pokémon

When these Poke'mon hatch in the fall, they collect two dry leaves, and use them for locomotion. When the leaves rot away, they are forced to evolve.

Type (Bug)
Abilities; soundproof/Sap sipper
Gender ratio 50% eV:1 Df point
Stats at level 50

Health:60 *
Attack: 35
Sp.Atk: 20
Defense:60 *
Sp.Def: 35
Speed: 25

Evolutionary chain: Clegyleaf-lv 10-?-lv 20-?

That's a pretty cool idea. Maybe we can have a bug pokemon that is actually useful competitively.

I might make some more concept art for this later.

I made something pretty similar to this actually, a pretty basic grass type, it was a Grass/Flying, however it was a floating eye thing.

Still awesome though! Gelo should make a sprite for this...

Here are a few sprites:

Bug pokémon: Papillon Th_PapillonF Female
Bug pokémon: Papillon Th_PapillonM Male

I made a few tweaks to your original concept art. The female's abdomen is slightly larger than the male's.

I like it! However, I'm not sure if it looks... leafy enough?

It doesn't necessarily need to be part grass... Grass/Bug is a really bad type combo, as it is 4x weak to Fire and Flying, and also has weaknesses to ice, poison, bug, and rock. Pure bug only has three weaknesses, fire, flying, and rock, and no 4x weaknesses.

EDIT: I guess you're right, but I think we should let Dimafo decide.

ha,ha (in my country we laugh like that), yes, Dedede is right, it doesn't seem too leafy. In fact is far different from my initial sketh but anyway i like it (although i'm not 100% satisfyed with the eyes ). I had already thought about the type combination when gelatino said we could make it useful competitivily.
So, my decision is to keep gelatino's design (however,i would like eyes or snout to be changed Rolling Eyes) and type (Bug/Bug-?).
And i think stats and ability (one is useless, i know) fit quite well.

As far as i've seen i should make computer designs or sprites to have more chances to have my drawings accepted. So, gelatino, how do you make them? if it's not a problem, of course. Razz

How to make sprites? Well, it's actually quite hard. You need to take a very close look at some existing pokemon sprites to see how they are made. I learned how by tampering with some pokemon sprites. Here are some examples of my work:

Bug pokémon: Papillon Th_SteelidosBug pokémon: Papillon Th_SimiloamBug pokémon: Papillon Th_GreenapeBug pokémon: Papillon Th_HydrioBug pokémon: Papillon Th_RhykingBug pokémon: Papillon Th_NidodonBug pokémon: Papillon Th_Kabutzor

After that, I knew enough about sprites that I could make them from scratch. As for you, I would suggest making your pokemon designs in Microsoft Paint or any other paint program you have.

Now, can you be specific about how you want Papillon's eyes and proboscis to be changed?

Sorry for intruding on your eye talk, but I have an idea for Papillon's Poke'ex entry:

Papillon
Bug
The Scavenger Poke'mon
When these Poke'mon hatch in the fall, they collect two dry leaves, and use them for locomotion. When the leaves rot away, they are forced to evolve.

Just an idea, I'm not trying to force anyobdy into accepting anything, it is Dimafo's Poke'mon. I was just trying to give an example. Wink

P.S. Gelo, do you think I'm posting to much? Should I stop? It sounds weird, but I don't want to 'dominate' the forum...

You never need to stop posting. The more you post, the better. It's always good to have a living discussion in the forum. If you have an idea, I always want to hear about it, so post all you want and don't worry about dominating anything. If it makes you feel better, you could receive an upgrade for contributing so much.

In fact, that's what I'm gonna do. Congratulations. Just remember to stay on topic.

Yaaaay.

Anyway, how do you like the Poke'dex entry? It would allow the Poke'mon to stay vaguely leafy (although they'd have to be a dry color) and still allow it to use Leaf-based moves, however, because it's not a part of the actual Poke'mon, it does not have to be a Bug/Grass type.

I liked your Pokedex entry. Dimafo should add it to his OP.

But not now, He's probably asleep right now. He lives in Spain, you see.

Nice description, i think it fits perfectly with my idea and gelatino's design.

And i've changed the pkm's proboscis but i'll keep the eyes as gelatino made them.

And finnally i propose to change it's name now that's more a fly than a butterfly. How about motheize (moth and seize) or
something similar?

I think Motheize should be it's final evolution's name. First evolution should be something cuter... Mesquojo? Mesquito+Ojo (Spanish for eye)? That's the best I can think of.

The problem now is that all pokemon sprites must be 80 pixels wide and 80 pixels tall. You've oversized it. Otherwise, it's fine.

I've been thinking about this project but i couldn't came up with an appropiate evolution and a story-line based on king ddd description (about this pokemon attaches itself leafs..)If anyone wants or has an idea to continue it,do it. If not, i may call it off. ( we have enough ideas round here so it wouldn't matter at all). Many thanks for the sprite, Gelo

I was thinking it's Cocoon form could be based on a Spittle Bug (meaning it'd look like a pile of bubbles with a stick or some leaves sticking out), and it's evolution could be a Moth-like creature based of the legend of the Bird of Paradise, who are said to lack feet and live in the air their whole lives.
